Salonak respects your privacy and processes personal data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are
Salonak operates a UK marketplace for at-home grooming services. For privacy enquiries: support@salonak.co.uk

2. Data we collect
• Account details — name, email, phone, postcode, profile photo
• Booking data — services, times, addresses, status, messages related to appointments, tips, and dispute records
• Payment metadata — processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers
• Device data — push notification tokens, app diagnostics
• Location — only when you choose to share postcode or address for discovery and bookings
• Support and feedback — messages you send to our team
• Professional verification — documents and details submitted by providers

3. How we use your data
• To create and manage your account
• To match you with nearby professionals and businesses
• To process bookings, payments, refunds, tips, and reminders
• To send booking updates and messages you opt into
• To keep the platform safe — fraud prevention, verification, and dispute handling
• To improve Salonak — analytics in aggregated or pseudonymised form where possible
• To comply with legal obligations

4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
We rely on contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security and improvement), consent (marketing and optional notifications), and legal obligation where applicable.

5. Sharing your data
We share data only as needed:
• With the professional or business fulfilling your booking
• With Stripe for payments and tips
• With Firebase/Google Cloud for hosting and authentication
• With authorities when required by law
We do not sell your personal data.

6. Retention
We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal, tax, and dispute resolution purposes. You may request deletion via Delete Account in the app or by emailing support@salonak.co.uk (account deletion is blocked while open bookings remain).

7. Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent for marketing at any time. You may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). Contact support@salonak.co.uk to exercise your rights.

8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong password and keep it private.

9. Children
Salonak is not intended for users under 18.

10. International transfers
Data may be processed outside the UK with appropriate safeguards where required.

We will update this policy when practices change and note the "Last updated" date above.
